Most recording fees to increase by $1

The Washington State Legislature in ESHB 1594 has authorized an increase in most recording fees by $1 beginning July 23, 2017.

The fees will be used by the state primarily to fund a competitive grant program for local agencies to improve technology information systems for public record retention, management, disclosure, and any related training.

The document fees that will remain the same include military documents, federal tax liens, emergency recording of non-standard forms and forms for which there was previously no charge. Additionally, fees for searches, copies and additional pages will remain the same.

The updated list of fees will be posted on the Kitsap County Auditor – Recording Division page on July 21.
