Registration, Voter History, Updates, Cancellations and Restoring Voting Rights 

This page provides information and important links for you to use to make sure you are able to register to vote and keep your information up to date.

You can now register and vote a ballot at the Auditor's Office up until 8 p.m. on Election Day.

Voter Registration Requirements and Deadlines

To register to vote in Washington, you must be:

  • A citizen of the United States
  • A legal resident of the state of Washington
  • 18 years of age by the next election  (Future Voters can pre-register at age 16, and 17-year-olds who will be 18 by the General Election can vote in primary races.)
  • Not serving a sentence of total confinement in prison
  • Not disqualified from voting due to a court order
  • When you register to vote you are required to attest in a signed statement as part of the registration process that you are a U.S. citizen and eligible to vote. You must also provide a form of identification. A person who falsely submits that they are a citizen or votes as a non-citizen is guilty of a class C felony. They also jeopardize attaining U.S. citizenship in the future.

8 Days Before an Election
  • ​Last day for online voter registration for new Washington voters
  • Last day for mail-in voter registration for new Washington voters
  • Last day for online and mail-in address changes for existing Washington voters
8 p.m. Election Day
  • Deadline for in-person voter registration for new Washington voters and address changes for existing Washington voters.

Address Changes (For voters who move from one Kitsap County address to another Kitsap County address)

To report your address change, please fill out this form; or provide your name, date of birth and the old and new addresses in an email to auditor@kitsap.gov.

 

Felons and Restoring Your Voting Rights

If you were convicted of a felony, your right to vote is automatically restored as long as you are not currently serving a Department of Corrections sentence of total confinement in prison.

Important Links And Forms

Online Voter Registration If you have a current Washington driver's license or state ID, you can register to vote online. Once registered you can use this link to see your voting history and a list of your elected officials. You can also update your voter registration name and address.

Printable Voter Registration Form If don't have a Washington ID you can use this printable PDF (1 page, 284KB) and return it to our office for new voter registration and name or address changes.

Signature Update Your signature may have changed over the years. Use this form to provide your most recent signature, which we will keep on file and use in future elections.

Printable Registration Cancellation Form Print sign and return this PDF (1 page, 20KB) if you have moved out of the county or wish for any reason to cancel your voter registration. If you are a registered voter you can also use this form to let us know if another voter is deceased.
