Building Safety Month 2024

Throughout May, Kitsap County will participate in the 44th annual Building Safety Month, a worldwide campaign presented by the International Code Council, its members, and partners to promote building safety. This year's campaign is, "Mission Possible." The campaign encourages us to raise awareness about building safety on a personal, local, and global scale. We also celebrate the professionals who make the work of building safety happen.

Week One: "Understanding the Mission" - Evidence of “building safety” is all around us. From an individual level, building safety can include installing smoke alarms in your house or giving portable heaters at least three feet of space. From a community level, building safety can include adopting modern building codes or enacting sustainability initiatives.
