National Public Works Week is May 17-23, 2026!
Since 1960, The American Public Works Association has sponsored
National Public Works Week. Across North America, Public Works Departments use this week to energize and educate the public on the importance of public works to their daily lives: planning, building, managing, and operating infrastructure at the heart of our local communities to improve everyday quality of life.
Elementary Tour Day - No tour scheduled for 2026
We invite third to fifth-grade classes around Kitsap County to join us for a day of touring and hands-on activities. Students rotate through five stations highlighting various activities in Public Works.
Students learn about traffic signs, road striping, intersection signals, crosswalks, stormwater management, wastewater treatment, and how garbage is processed.
