Citizens Academy


​Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue and the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office invite you to join the Kitsap Public Safety Citizens' Academy.


This citizens academy will be every Thursday from April 17th to June 12th, with graduation on June 14th.

The mission of the Kitsap Public Safety Citizens Academy is to enhance the safety and quality of life in the greater Kitsap community. We execute this mission by utilizing individuals and businesses to contribute to the efforts to address public safety issues in partnership with the first responders who serve our community.

What you'll learn...

    • April 17 - Introduction to the Fire and Law Enforcement, Goals & Expectations
    • April 24 - Law Enforcement - KCSO overview, policing, and police reform
    • May 01 - Fire - History, data, growth, and vision
    • May 08 - Law Enforcement - Corrections & Re-Entry Program
    • May 15 - Fire - Bunker gear, SCBA, hose, and ladder
    • May 22 - Law Enforcement - K9, SWAT, Traffic, and Detectives
    • May 29 - Fire EMS, CPR, Stop the Bleed, and Mega code
    • June 05 - Law Enforcement - Use of Force alternative tactics
    • June 12 - Fire - Ropes, extrication, and climbing
    • June 14 - Graduation

The trainings will be held at various locations throughout Kitsap County.  Here are a few of those locations.
