The Kitsap County Jail is a regional correctional facility that operates 24 hours a day, housing both males and females. Our Corrections Division continues to advance and evolve in all areas of our profession, within the confines of the budget. Additionally, we are continually looking for ways to partner with volunteers, community service entities, and other outside agencies in an effort to provide services to the inmate population that they could benefit from.
Process
Our commitment is to assist those who are incarcerated navigate through the criminal justice system. We also want to assist them transition into the community with resources that will help them succeed. Our re-entry staff meets with individuals and assists with finding them the services they need.
These are some of the services provided to incarcerated individuals in the Kitsap County Jail. The services are for either while in custody or transitioning back into the community:
· Medical and Mental Health Services
· Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Program for Opioid addiction
· Behavioral Health Assessments (Drug, Alcohol, and Mental Health)
· Referrals to inpatient and outpatient behavioral health treatment providers
· Veteran's Services
· Transitional assistance for basic needs once released (food, insurance, and housing)
· Referrals to help women who are pregnant
· Assistance and referrals to programs that help those that are victims of domestic violence or
human trafficking
