SHIBA (Statewide Health Insurance Benefit Advisors) Volunteers
Statewide
Health Insurance Benefit Advisors (SHIBA) volunteers help consumers make
informed decisions about health insurance, including Medicare. SHIBA
volunteers are trained to educate, assist and advocate for consumers about their rights and
options. Volunteers receive training, guidance and ongoing support through the
Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner and the local SHIBA
sponsor organization. No experience is necessary. To learn more about volunteer
opportunities with Kitsap County's SHIBA program, contact Peninsula Community
Health Services at 360-475-3095 or shiba@pchsweb.org.
