Recycling exemption for seniors and disabled persons with limited income
Recycling pickup is automatically included with garbage pickup in unincorporated Kitsap County. This is required by county code.
However, seniors with limited income and disabled persons with limited income can apply to Kitsap County to cancel curbside recycling while keeping garbage service.
If your application is approved, you will not receive or pay for curbside recycling service. WM will remove your recycling cart. You may continue to recycle at drop-off facilities for no charge.

Property owners
Property owners must receive a property tax exemption from the Kitsap County Assessor. Once you've received your tax exemption, you can apply to Kitsap County Solid Waste Division to cancel your recycling. The Division will notify WM on your behalf, and WM will remove your recycling cart.
Renters
Renters must complete a separate application and meet certain age, disability, income, and other requirements.
