Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
Federal law protects everyone's right to participate and be heard. As a recipient of Federal Aid, Kitsap County Public Works must comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act and related laws, regulations, and other requirements, including addressing environmental justice (EJ) with minority and low-income populations and improving access to people with limited English proficiency (LEP).
Kitsap County Title VI Assurances of Nondiscrimination
Kitsap County Public Works Roads Division assures that no person shall on the grounds of race, color, or national origin, as provided by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and as amended, and the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987 (P.I. 100.259) be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance from the Washington State Department of Transportation.

Kitsap County hereby gives public notice that it is the County's policy to assure full compliance with
Title VI, Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987, and related statutes and regulations in all programs and activities.
