Kitsap County is participating in an eFile pilot program through the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC). We appreciate your patience as we navigate this new service. Local Clerk policies will be developed and updated as needed.
**Beginning January 21st the Clerk’s
office will no longer be accepting documents through the “ex parte” email
address that was being used during the pandemic. That address will not be
monitored after that date. There is a new Pre check-in for ex parte box
available. Those wishing to appear by Zoom will need to use
alternative methods to get their documents to the courtroom for their hearing.**
If you plan to appear in-person for Ex-Parte, please check-in at the clerk's office room 202 with the case number, party names, date/time and documents you are presenting prepared (8:30 a.m. M-F or 3:30 p.m. M,TH,F) . If you are checking in online and appearing by zoom, please be sure to route your documents appropriately either by fax, mail, or messenger with a letter of instruction. You can check in online by clicking HERE.
If you are faxing your ex parte documents for filing, the fee is only for the page count. There are no additional fees for routing it to superior court if you are appearing for court by zoom. For ex parte check in at 8:30am, please have documents faxed no later than 3:30pm the prior business day. For ex parte check in at 3:30pm, please have documents faxed no later than 2:00pm the same day you plan on appearing.

PROCEDURES FOR FILING EX-PARTE BY MAIL
The ex-parte presentation of documents to Superior Court for approval, signature and subsequent filing is a convenience provided to members of the BAR and the public by the Clerk of the Superior Court in accordance with the provisions of RCW 36.18.016(12). In order to facilitate expeditious processing of documents submitted, it is necessary that parties comply with the specific procedures and requirements as noted below. Please use the ex-parte by mail coversheet to provide clear guidance.
All ex-parte documents must be addressed to:
Kitsap County Clerk - Ex Parte
614 Division St. MS-34
Port Orchard, WA 98366
Provide original documents to submit for signature and filing. Our office does not accept proposed orders for filing; you may provide them as a bench copy.
If conformed copies are being requested, provide those copies as well as a self-addressed, stamped envelope large enough to accommodate return copies with sufficient postage.
Provide payment in the amount of $30.00 for each presentation. (Pro se litigants making payments must submit either a money order or cashiers' check
ONLY.) If you are faxing your documents, please include the fax/page fee.
If requesting certified copies, additional payment is required; $5.00 for the first page and $1.00 for each additional page thereafter, per document. Payments can be combined onto one check.
Note: Payment only ensures that the order will be presented to the Court for signature. If the submission is not successful, resubmitted pleadings will require a new ex parte fee.
(Request for Track Assignment is not required as cases in Kitsap County are not assigned until set for trial).
If filings submitted ex-parte mail, email, eFile, or by mail does not comply with ALL of the above requirements, it will be returned unprocessed.
