SpotlightNorth Sound to Olympics Trail Study
In 2011, the North Kitsap community completed an extensive grass-roots process to explore and identify how to link their communities and access parks and open spaces. This effort resulted in the "String of Pearls" plan, which was adopted by the County Commissioners and incorporated into the County's Non-Motorized Facility Plan (2013, 18).
Kitsap County Public Works is conducting a North Sound to Olympics (NSTO) Trail study in a continuation of this series of efforts. The study will analyze the feasibility of a preferred alternative route for the NSTO between Kingston and the STO - Port Gamble Trail at the Stottlemeyer trailhead. Learn more >>
